• Lead the design, implementation, and continual improvement of user interfaces and workflows for applications hosted in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) with a primary focus on Section 508 accessibility compliance.
• The successful candidate will ensure that all developed systems fully meet or exceed accessibility requirements, providing equitable access and optimal usability for all users, including those with disabilities.
• The role demands collaboration with stakeholders, cross-functional technical teams, and end users to advance both user-centric design and accessibility best practices in accordance with federal and DoD standards.
• Lead the development and integration of accessible, user-friendly interfaces for web and application solutions in the OCI environment via Oracle Forms, ensuring all products deliver outstanding usability for diverse user groups.
• Apply extensive knowledge of Section 508, WCAG 2.1 (or newer), and other relevant accessibility regulations throughout the system development lifecycle—from requirements gathering and design to implementation, testing, and maintenance.
• Conduct accessibility assessments using both automated tools (e.g., Axe, WAVE) and manual testing techniques (including screen reader and keyboard-only testing) to validate compliance and advise on remediation strategies.
• Collaborate with product owners, software engineers, system administrators, and cybersecurity teams to integrate accessible design patterns and resolve accessibility issues throughout agile sprints or project workflows.
• Interpret complex business requirements and user feedback—especially from users with disabilities—into practical, accessible interface solutions, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and user needs.
• Prepare Section 508 conformance and VPAT documentation for all user-facing deliverables as required by government and contractor standards; maintain records to satisfy Authority to Operate (ATO), RMF, and audit processes.
• Develop accessible documentation and end-user resources, ensuring all digital and downloadable materials (PDFs, guides, training) meet or exceed Section 508 accessibility thresholds.
• Provide guidance and training to internal teams, government stakeholders, and partners on Section 508 regulations, best practices, and compliance strategies.
• Participate in usability and accessibility testing sessions, coordinate incorporation of user feedback, and drive continuous improvements to user experience and accessibility for all environments.
• Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
• Candidate must have an active DoD Secret Clearance
• Candidate must have an active Security+ CE (or equivalent)
• Candidate must have at least 4 years of experience in the following: UX/UI design or engineering roles, with a focus on enterprise or government web applications. Ensuring Section 508 and WCAG compliance for digital products—portfolio or conformance documentation preferred.
• Modern UX/UI frameworks and tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch), as well as front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Angular, or Vue).
• Assistive technologies (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver), ARIA attributes, and mobile/desktop accessibility standards.
• Authoring VPATs, section 508 statements, and user support materials for federal clients.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to educate stakeholders and document complex accessibility processes clearly.
• Bachelor's degree International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) certification such as CPACC or WAS.
• Experience supporting application development on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or other major cloud environments.
• Experinece supporting ATO, RMF, FedRAMP, or similar federal compliance activities as related to user-facing systems.
• Familiarity with Agile, DevSecOps, or human-centered design methodologies in government environments.
