Description

• Support the Case Management Modernization (CMM) Program for the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts by bridging design and engineering • Synthesize UX research and high-fidelity prototypes into intuitive, accessible, and efficient user experiences • Produce clean, production-ready front-end code • Collaborate with Product Owners, UI Architects, Developers, and HCD Specialists to translate research insights into design specifications • Translate high-fidelity prototypes into responsive, accessible front-end applications and reusable React UI components • Ensure designs follow Human-Centered Design principles, program objectives, and Agile ceremonies • Define and enforce UI/UX and front-end coding standards • Evaluate designs for Section 508, usability, and WCAG accessibility compliance • Support rapid prototyping, validation, and iterative feedback during sprint cycles • Provide recommendations on UI consistency, interaction design, and design-system reuse • Partner with Quality Assurance and Compliance teams to verify usability and accessibility in production releases • Produce HCD implementation plans, accessibility and compliance reports, and shared design-system templates and components • Improve task completion efficiency and user satisfaction while reducing post-release UI-related defects

Requirements

• 8+ years of UI/UX design development experience • 5+ years in a Human-Centered Design role supporting enterprise or government applications • 10+ years of general information-systems experience • 8+ years of specialized experience • Strong understanding of Agile/SAFe delivery and iterative design integration • Expertise in usability testing, including heuristic evaluations, card sorting, and A/B testing • Proficiency with Figma, Sketch, Storybook, Axure, Miro, or similar tools • Strong proficiency in React, including reusable functional components, state and props, responsive interfaces, and production integration • Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, responsive design, and Sass or other CSS preprocessors • Experience designing for federal systems and knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG compliance • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HCI, Design, or a related field • Experience with federal digital modernization programs or court/case management systems • Familiarity with DesignOps and UX governance • Exposure to Google Analytics and Hotjar • Understanding of Zero Trust Design and secure user-interface principles • Knowledge of AI-assisted UX tools or predictive usability models • Excellent presentation, storytelling, oral, and written communication skills • Ability to work with high-level customer stakeholders • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team • Experience identifying and applying industry tools, solutions, methods, best practices, and emerging technologies • Experience may be considered in lieu of degree: high school with 16+ years, associate degree with 14+ years, bachelor’s degree with 12+ years, or doctorate with 9+ years • Certified Usability Analyst, Certified HCD Professional, SAFe Agile Practitioner, Section 508 Trusted Tester, or UX/HCD certifications are preferred, highly desirable, or beneficial—not required • No security clearance currently possessed or required to obtain • U.S. citizenship is not required • 40 scheduled hours per week • No travel required
