Staff React Engineer

Description

• Design and lead the core architecture of CHG’s React-based reporting platform hosted in Snowflake • Set standards for component patterns, data-fetching, state management, and performance • Serve as the primary technical expert on architecture • Evaluate tooling and integration approaches, including Snowflake-hosted apps, Snowpark, and API layers, in coordination with leadership • Partner with data engineering, analytics engineering, and BI teams to prioritize and migrate Tableau dashboards to React • Mentor and train engineers, BI developers, and analysts organization-wide through code reviews, workshops, and pair programming • Build and champion AI-assisted engineering tools and guardrails that help the team build faster and more consistently within platform standards • Report to the Director of Data Engineering

Requirements

• Deep expertise in React, TypeScript/JavaScript, and modern front-end tooling • Strong data visualization and charting skills, including D3, Recharts, or Highcharts • Proven ability to architect front-end platforms used by multiple teams • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to engineers, analysts, and non-technical stakeholders • Hands-on experience building or customizing AI-powered developer tools, including AI coding assistants, custom agents/MCP integrations, or internal LLM tooling • Strong ownership instincts and comfort operating with a high degree of autonomy and ambiguity • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience • 5+ years focused on React and front-end architecture • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience • Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse experience preferred • Prior experience mentoring engineers or leading technical enablement programs preferred • Experience migrating legacy BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to custom-built solutions preferred
