Staff Fullstack Engineer

Description

• Lead the evolution of the Booking Engine powering direct bookings, guest portals, upsells, SEO, and conversion flows

• Ensure Booking Engine is scalable, extensible, and high-performing for property managers and guests

• Work across the stack: backend services (Node.js, PHP), frontend (React, TypeScript), and database systems

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering Managers, Engineers, and Designers to connect business problems, architecture, and UX

• Lead technical design and implementation of user-facing booking flows, balancing backend scalability with frontend performance

• Drive architectural improvements to enhance maintainability and developer velocity

• Mentor and coach engineers, foster product-focused mindset, and influence engineering practices (quality, accessibility, performance)

• Perform day-to-day activities including stand-ups, pairing, design sessions, code reviews, technical debt triage, Jira ticketing, and manager catch-ups

Requirements

• Must be physically based within the European region

• Strong skills in either frontend or backend, with willingness to work across the stack (Node.js, PHP, Javascript, React, TypeScript)

• 6+ years of SaaS software engineering experience

• At least 2 years in a leadership or staff-level role

• Track record of building customer-facing features that drive measurable product outcomes (e.g., improved conversions)

• Experience collaborating closely with Product and Design to shape user flows

• Strong grasp of relational databases, testing, and CI/CD

• Curiosity, adaptability, and empathy for end users
