Description

• Own epics end to end after handoff from Product, from story writing and pointing through delivery and release • Build across the TypeScript/Node back end and React front end, taking on large, complex problems in the team's scope • Report progress on epics regularly and accurately, and raise risks before they become surprises • Partner with the Product Manager and senior engineers on technical design and architecture decisions • Use AI coding tools as a default part of the workflow and review their output rigorously • Lead company-wide demos of delivered epic work • Review teammates' code for design concerns, edge cases, and test gaps • Participate in scrum ceremonies including refinement, sprint kick-off, standup, demos, and retro • Work directly with Product, QA, and UX throughout delivery • Investigate and resolve issues found in QA, UAT, and production

Requirements

• 3 or more years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production software • Strong TypeScript or JavaScript knowledge, with real depth in both Node.js and React • Track record of carrying a substantial piece of work from ambiguous requirements to released software • Comfort with relational databases, SQL, and reasoning about data models • Experience with microservices, Docker, and a cloud platform such as AWS • Automated testing as a habit rather than an afterthought • Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants, plus judgment to know when their output is wrong • Clear written communication with a strong command of the English language • Able to reason through technical disagreements with evidence, and to update your view when the evidence shifts • Authorized to work in the U.S. or Canada • Able to pass a comprehensive background check, which is required for this role • Nice to have: Experience mentoring or onboarding other engineers • Nice to have: Background in finance, brokerage, trading, custody, or blockchain • Nice to have: Exposure to regulated environments and the audit trails they require • Nice to have: Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar
