• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and systems • Collaborate with engineers, product teams, product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions • Design and maintain RESTful APIs, backend services, distributed applications, software features, modules, and APIs • Design and optimize PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB schemas, SQL queries, indexes, and data models • Develop software for real-time and time-series data with scalability, reliability, and performance • Participate in code reviews and integrate software with systems and services • Use AI-assisted development tools while reviewing and testing generated code • Write unit, integration, end-to-end, automated API, and integration tests • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and performance issues • Monitor production systems and implement fixes and improvements • Refactor and upgrade software; optimize databases, application responsiveness, and cloud resources • Create and maintain developer, end-user, API, architecture, and technical implementation documentation • Research emerging software development trends, tools, AI technologies, frameworks, and automation • Participate in agile ceremonies, manage tasks and priorities, and collaborate with DevOps and QA on CI/CD
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field • Minimum of 2 years in software development using modern software engineering practices • Experience developing software using Go, Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript • Proficiency in algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design, and design patterns • Understanding of Agile/Scrum software development methodologies • Experience with version control systems such as Git • Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs • Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL development, database design, and query optimization • Knowledge of CI/CD processes and tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI • Experience using AI-assisted software development tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar LLM-based coding assistants • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication skills for conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively • Experience with Go, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or comparable modern programming languages is preferred • Experience with TimescaleDB or other time-series databases is preferred • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus • Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes is a plus
