Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack

Description

• Design, build, test, document, and operate production-grade software, focusing on Go services and APIs • Own technical design for medium-to-large features and systems, including trade-off analysis and decision documentation • Break ambiguous problems into scoped, deliverable work • Lead and participate in design and architecture reviews • Set standards for correctness, readability, testability, and operational safety in code reviews • Mentor and grow engineers, onboard new hires, and serve as a technical point of contact • Improve the on-call rotation, instrument services, drive incident response, and lead blameless postmortems • Improve system reliability, performance, and cost; define and act on SLOs and operational metrics • Identify and reduce technical debt • Partner with product managers, designers, and stakeholders on roadmap and technology decisions • Help define and enforce engineering principles, guidelines, and best practices • Develop deep understanding of the industry, products, features, and roadmap to inform technical decisions

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production systems • Strong, demonstrated proficiency in Go (Golang) — required • Experience designing, building, and scaling backend services and APIs (REST and/or gRPC) in a distributed, microservices environment • Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript and experience with React or another modern front-end framework • Knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases, caching, and event streaming such as Kafka or SQS/SNS • Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure; containers; CI/CD; and infrastructure-as-code • Observability, monitoring, alerting, and production debugging skills • Track record of leading projects with multiple contributors and delivering on time without sacrificing quality • Familiarity with Agile software product delivery and SCRUM methodology • Ability to work cross-functionally within an enterprise environment
