Senior Software Engineer

Description

• Take ownership of complex features and services from design through deployment and ongoing support • Lead feature design and technical delivery across the stack • Ensure solutions are scalable, performant and aligned with architectural standards • Write high-quality, maintainable production code and promote simplicity, clarity and complete documentation • Champion advanced design patterns, clean architecture, automated testing and robust coding standards • Own quality and reliability, including security, regulatory and performance considerations • Improve automation, observability, tooling and delivery processes • Collaborate with Product, Delivery, Architecture, Software Engineering and Testing colleagues • Lead technical discussions and influence design decisions • Contribute to technical strategy, patterns and standards • Mentor less experienced engineers through code reviews, pair programming, knowledge sharing and design guidance • Stay current with emerging technologies and identify opportunities for continuous improvement • Set technical standards and improve quality across the engineering team • Help shape an inclusive engineering culture through mentorship, innovation and practical technical leadership • Contribute to consistent engineering patterns supporting long-term platform growth

Requirements

• Significant commercial software engineering experience • Strong depth in frontend or backend development with exposure across the full stack • Expertise in Java and Spring Boot and/or JavaScript and TypeScript • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, clean architecture and scalability principles • Experience delivering robust, production-grade software and complex features or services end to end • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or a comparable cloud environment • Proven track record in Agile delivery and DevOps practices • Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and observability tools • Ability to lead technical conversations and influence engineering and design decisions • Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills • Commitment to mentoring, knowledge sharing and raising standards across a team • Growth mindset and confidence to drive continuous improvement • A degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
