Senior Software Engineer

Description

• Build and evolve the app-building experience • Develop workflow and automation capabilities • Build AI agents that reliably use tools, data, and automations • Design and build integrations with external systems and APIs • Improve performance, reliability, security, and permissions • Solve technical and architectural problems as the platform grows • Build product experiences that make complex capabilities easy to use • Take ownership of substantial parts of Budibase and drive work through to production • Work directly with product, design, and other engineers to decide what to build and how to build it • Raise engineering quality through technical decisions, systems built, and collaboration

Requirements

• Significant professional software engineering experience • Strong JavaScript or TypeScript fundamentals • Comfortable working across frontend and backend • Experience owning substantial product or technical work from problem through to production • Ability to work effectively with ambiguity and make sound technical decisions • Care for usability, reliability, maintainability, and product quality • Ability to break complex problems into pragmatic solutions and ship them • Ability to identify when a system needs deeper technical investment versus a simpler solution • Experience using AI coding tools and actively exploring how AI changes software development • Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly and work effectively with product, design, and engineering
