As the Software Engineer V, responsibilities will include but may not be limited to: Understand Mission Command Tactical Messaging for DoD command systems between tactical equipment and simulation systems. Work through full-cycle software development that includes requirements analysis, design, & implementation. Interface with lead integration engineer regarding software component integration. Derivation of system-level requirements into software requirements. Identification, documentation, and repair of software defects. Designing, coding, and debugging applications in various software languages. Apply software engineering standards and assists the engineering team in software system or subsystem development and documentation efforts. Understands and adheres to project schedules and stays within established budgets. Leads small development teams in terms of task breakdown, progress tracking, and technical issue resolution to ensure product success. For Mission Command
System development, integration, and test: Consults with executive management on establishing and altering software development policies and tools to direct effective software development. Consult, coach, and advise on strategy, business alignment, enterprise architecture, and information technology solutions and the associated impact on the organization and its stakeholders.
Conduct initiatives and research to develop and establish development guidelines, best practices and standards into new CMMI development processes.
