• Work with Product and Design to understand user and business problems, challenge assumptions and help decide what is worth solving • Design and break down complex solutions across user journeys, APIs, data, architecture, security, failure modes and operational impact • Create diagrams and lightweight technical documentation • Develop clear, staged or phased technical approaches • Build across frontend, mobile, APIs, services and data models • Own testing, deployment, observability, production support and incident learning • Review designs and code, share knowledge and improve engineering practices • Report to the Engineering Manager within the product squad • Collaborate in a small, autonomous product squad and broader engineering team
• Experienced full-lifecycle engineer with judgement and curiosity across the journey from problem to production • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to explain decision trade-offs • Experience with high-quality engineering at scale or maturity • Solid experience building and shipping production software • Fullstack development with TypeScript/JavaScript, React and NodeJS across frontend, APIs and backend services • Experience building and releasing mobile applications, ideally using Capacitor or similar cross-platform technologies • Experience building and operating applications in a modern cloud environment using Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Docker, Vercel and Sanity CMS • Experience in environments where quality, traceability and responsible data handling matter; healthcare, fintech, life sciences or other regulated industries particularly relevant • Experience working in agile, cross-functional product teams with Product and Design • Experience with test automation and traceability • Must be able to work in the UK; the employer cannot sponsor visas to work in the UK
