Description

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers • Guide technical decisions, conduct code reviews, and establish best practices and documentation • Drive full-stack systems design decisions covering API architecture, data models, and UI component structure • Lead an AI-enabled development team and own guardrails, validation layers, end-to-end tests, and supporting systems • Break down product and design requirements into clear, well-scoped engineering tasks and distribute them across the team • Build responsive frontend experiences using React and modern component libraries • Write secure backend services using Express.js, REST APIs, modular design, and Prisma ORM • Collaborate with design, product, DevSecOps, and field teams to launch features quickly and securely • Drive rapid prototyping while enforcing production-grade coding standards • Champion automated testing and code quality gates • Troubleshoot bugs, resolve performance bottlenecks, and build for IL6 deployment requirements

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience, including prior experience leading engineers • Demonstrated ownership of full-stack software development from infrastructure to user experience • Experience leading an AI-enabled development team, including ownership of guardrails, validation, end-to-end testing, and support systems • Full-stack proficiency across frontend and backend, with architectural decision-making experience • React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and responsive design • Express.js, Prisma ORM, relational databases, SQL, indexing, and query optimization • Systems design knowledge, including state management, REST APIs, asynchronous data fetching, and event-driven/asynchronous messaging • Experience with Jest, Vitest, React Testing Library, Playwright, Cypress, or comparable testing tools • Ability to translate product and design requirements into well-scoped engineering tasks • Familiarity with secure software development practices and CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or GitLab • Comfortable leading in Agile or Lean environments • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance • Active Secret or TS clearance preferred • Bonus: secure government environments (DoD, IL5+, FedRAMP), geospatial applications, Security+ or AWS Developer/Architect certifications, and startup or rapid-growth experience
