Role Summary
The Amazon Connect squad in Canada Technology Functions is seeking a self-motivated Senior Full Stack Engineer who is interested in driving the exciting transformation of our interactive voice recognition (IVR) solutions as we transition from our legacy platform to Amazon Connect.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product owners, software engineers, and operations engineers to deliver new business value through software
- Prototype and build new functionality on Amazon Connect and AWS to deliver on key product objectives
- Deliver an exceptional user experience to our customers, through the delivery of products and services with strong and extendable architectural design
- Maintain and support these services, with accountability for production reliability and usage, and the delivery of new functionality
- Work with lead Engineers and our Architecture team to realize the strategic vision of Manulife’s technology stack
Requirements
- AWS Cloud experience supporting a highly-automated engineering platform
- Amazon Connect and associated AWS Services including Lambda, DynamoDb, CloudFront, S3, API Gateway, etc.
- Languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS, React, HTML5, CSS3, Java and/or similar technologies
- An entrepreneurial spirit and comfort working within a rapidly changing startup environment
- Familiarity (2+ years) with agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration, and other approaches to accelerate the delivery of new features
- Ability to experiment with emerging technologies and understanding how they will impact what comes next
- A capacity for constant learning from both success and failure, remaining open to change and continuous improvement
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities that enable you to manage through creative abrasion
- Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to effectively articulate and communicate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes across all levels in the organization
- Understanding of the fundamentals of investment products, securities and/or financial services in support of our service or product offerings
