Description

• Build, maintain, and improve user-facing features using the Svelte SPA, from design handoff through deployment • Translate product requirements and design mockups into clean, scalable, reusable front-end code • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver high-quality features end-to-end • Contribute to Ruby on Rails backend logic and APIs as needed • Ensure consistent implementation of design systems and UI standards • Optimize applications for performance, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility • Write maintainable, well-tested front-end code and participate in code reviews • Incorporate WCAG accessibility best practices into front-end development • Identify and address technical debt and front-end architecture improvements • Help set front-end best practices, tooling decisions, and technical standards • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and provide constructive code review feedback • Debug and resolve issues across the front end and, when needed, the Rails backend • Stay current with evolving front-end technologies and apply relevant learnings

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience as a front-end or full stack developer • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS • Experience building SPAs using a modern front-end framework; Svelte experience, or React, Vue, or similar • Comfortable working with REST APIs • Some backend experience; Ruby on Rails preferred but not required • Strong attention to detail with a user-first mindset • Clear communication and ability to work well in cross-functional teams • Comfortable mentoring others • Nice to have: Ruby on Rails or similar backend framework experience • Nice to have: TypeScript experience • Nice to have: Browser-side analytics experience with Google Tag Manager or Amplitude • Nice to have: Testing frameworks such as RSpec and Jest • Nice to have: Accessibility standards and inclusive design exposure • Nice to have: Experience in healthcare, mental health, or regulated environments • Nice to have: Experience in a startup or scaling product team
