Senior Frontend Engineer

Description

• Own key product surfaces end to end, including direction, performance tracking, and prioritization • Build and modify backend APIs, services, and data flows • Identify opportunities from user feedback, data, and the codebase and drive the roadmap • Align with product and design and deliver independently • Lead refactoring of key features from JavaScript to TypeScript • Build LLM-driven product features across the stack • Implement model integrations, prompts, streaming responses, error handling, and user experiences for unpredictable model output • Identify and resolve frontend and backend architecture and performance bottlenecks • Use Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot and help establish responsible AI practices • Test important workflows and add monitoring and error reporting • Own shipped work in production, including AI-generated code • Review code and mentor other engineers

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional software development experience • Frontend strength with backend proficiency • Ability to design APIs, write server-side code, work with databases, and debug client-server issues • Self-driven and able to make decisions independently • Experience leading projects from concept to completion, documenting work, and teaching others • Clear written and verbal communication, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical people • Confidence with TypeScript, React, Next.js, Vite, and Tailwind • Daily, thoughtful use of AI coding assistants and agents • Ability to evaluate AI-generated code carefully • Nice to have: Node.js, Scala, Python, relational databases, caching, and queues • Nice to have: Redux, Redux Saga, and/or Zustand • Nice to have: LLM-powered features, streaming UIs, model APIs, prompt design, or evals • Nice to have: Agentic coding workflows, custom rules or context files, or MCP servers
