Senior Frontend Engineer, Video Streaming

Description

• Build and improve the UI for a web video player and related frontend components • Optimize startup time, latency, and playback quality across browsers/devices • Partner with backend and infrastructure teams to diagnose and resolve streaming issues

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience) • 7+ years of experience building modern web applications • Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (React preferred) • Professional experience working with video streaming technologies (e.g., HLS, DASH, WebRTC, ABR, CDNs, or video players) • Experience building and optimizing performance-sensitive user interfaces • Experience collaborating closely with backend and infrastructure teams • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in complex, high-scale environments • Nice to Have • Experience working on live streaming or real-time video products • Familiarity with browser media APIs (e.g., MSE/EME) • Experience operating in high-scale, high-availability systems • Passion for improving video quality and user experience at scale
