• As a senior member, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our customer-facing experiences across both our mobile app (React Native) and web platforms (React), including dashboards and our marketplace UI.
• This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in fast-paced, product-driven environments and wants to help build an industry-defining brand.
• Collaborate closely with our front-end, product, design, and backend teams to deliver high-quality features across mobile and web.
• Help shape our front-end architecture and best practices to ensure scalability, maintainability, and a premium user experience.
• Implement pixel-perfect designs with attention to interaction, motion, and accessibility.
• Drive the optimisation of app and web performance, reliability, and cross-device compatibility.
• Guide UI/UX decisions with a keen eye for detail, contributing to MILE’s elevated and luxury feel.
• Contribute to and evolve our Tamagui-powered design system across platforms.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
• Stay current with front-end trends and technologies to ensure we’re always pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
• 5+ years of professional experience developing complex front-end applications in production.
• Deep expertise in React and React Native, with a solid understanding of their ecosystems and performance distinctions in React paradigms.
• Strong grasp of modern JavaScript/TypeScript, state management (e.g., Redux, Zustand), and component-driven architecture.
• Developed multiple React Native applications that are performant and feel incredibly native, along with best practices for image loading, react-query implementation, scrollview optimizations, bottomsheet/modal management etc.
• Deep familiarity with react quirks, performance issues, useEffect gotchas and ability to make custom hooks.
• Experience making custom React Native bridge modules.
• Experience delivering polished mobile apps and web experiences that meet high standards of design and usability.
• Experience with Tamagui, Ant Design, Tailwind and Shadcn.
• Experience working with GraphQL on the frontend and building complex, templatable CMS/CRUD frontends.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integrating with backend services using Orval generated methods.
• Have set up Expo, build, and QOL aspects for engineering teams.
• Experience developing native and 3rd party shopping integrations such as Stripe and Shopify - managing shop/cart/checkout state perfectly between different services.
• Skilled in performance optimisation, debugging, and profiling tools for both web and mobile.
• Comfortable working in dynamic, high-growth, early-stage environments with evolving priorities.
• A collaborative problem-solver with excellent communication skills and a product-focused mindset.
• Built or contributed to automated front-end test suites, collaborating with QA teams (e.g., Detox, Playwright, React Testing Library).
• Experience with animations and advanced UI interactions (e.g., React Native Reanimated, Framer Motion).
• Familiarity with mobile app store release processes and OTA updates (e.g., CodePush, Expo).
• Passion for fashion, luxury, or e-commerce.
• Familiarity with analytics, A/B testing, and measuring UI impact on engagement metrics.
