 We’re currently seeking applications to fill a Senior Software Developer role in Energy Business Unit.

As a senior software engineer, you will play lead role in shaping CSIRO Energy’s digital transformation team’s technical direction and work closely with internationally renowned research scientists and engineers to translate and deploy cutting edge software-based solutions to Australia’s fast-changing electricity market needs.

You will work to deliver the industry-changing Data Clearing House platform (DCH) as a core team member, and exercise significant discretion in the direction of front-end activities.

An opportunity exists for you to play a key role in converting cutting edge science in the fields of semantic modelling and building energy flexibility to impact by enhancing and extending the DCH front end code base as well as contributing to a dynamic digital community, mentoring team members and supporting them with their technical skills development.

Requirements

Under CSIRO policy only those who meet all essential criteria can be appointed.

• Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience in software engineering.
• Considerable experience in web front end development, including HTML, CSS, TypeScript, JavaScript and single-page app frameworks
• Demonstrated experience with React JavaScript framework
• Familiarity with REST APIs
• Demonstrated experience with contemporary software development tools and practises: version control, unit testing, automated testing, issue tracking
• Sound interpersonal skills as evidenced by the ability to work effectively and collaboratively within and across teams in different areas
• Good judgement as applied to the identification and successful resolution of complex (technical and non-technical) problems and issues
