Description

• Develop, maintain, and implement new features across the Shopify Headless storefront, focusing on key pages (homepage, PDP, PLP, cart, and checkout) using React, HTML, Tailwind, SCSS, and TypeScript. • Implement and customize Shopify Functions to extend backend logic and commerce behavior • Integrate the storefront with external services and APIs, including the Shopify Storefront API (GraphQL), Shopify Admin API (GraphQL), Shopify Metafields, and third-party integrations like Algolia. • Act as an engineering partner to UX/UI designers, translating Figma designs into pixel-perfect, performance-optimized, and robust React components, while actively contributing to design critiques to ensure technical feasibility and component reusability early in the product lifecycle. • Customize existing Shopify themes and apps to meet business needs • Contribute to the evolution and governance of our Storybook-based design system, including architecting new, high-quality React components, establishing comprehensive usage guidelines, and maintaining the source of truth for design tokens across the application. • Optimize storefront performance with lazy loading, proper asset management, and code splitting • Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness • Uphold the highest standards of web accessibility, ensuring compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA. • Debug and resolve technical issues related to front-end development and theme code • Maintain and follow coding best practices and documentation standards

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in front-end development, with a strong focus on Shopify Headless storefronts • Experience working in fast paced start-up, DTC environment, Ecommerce brand • Deep proficiency in React, HTML, Tailwind, SCSS, and TypeScript for building and customizing Shopify Headless storefronts • Proven experience leveraging agentic coding and AI-assisted development workflows (e.g., Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate feature development and maintain high code quality. • Direct experience with the Shopify Storefront API (GraphQL) and Shopify Admin API (GraphQL) for data retrieval • Experience with modern React state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Context API, Zustand) • Familiarity with modern headless deployment frameworks like Shopify Hydrogen/Next.js. • Hands-on experience with Shopify Functions to build custom discount, payment, or delivery logic • Hands-on experience translating Figma designs into pixel-perfect, responsive web experiences • Solid understanding of Git-based workflows and version control best practices • Experience implementing and customizing key eCommerce pages including homepage, PDP, PLP, cart, and checkout • Strong knowledge of front-end performance optimization techniques such as lazy loading, asset management, and code splitting • Familiarity with Shopify apps and the ability to customize or extend their functionality • Excellent cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness skills • Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining storefronts that meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, including deep experience with semantic HTML and ARIA. • Experience working cross-functionally with UX/UI designers, product managers, and backend developers • Experience collaborating with QA teams throughout the entire software development life cycle (SDLC), including participating in technical design reviews and assisting with bug resolution. • Extensive experience working closely with UI/UX teams to manage seamless design handoffs and ensure accurate implementation of visual specifications. • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills related to theme code and front-end issues • Commitment to clean code, documentation standards, and development best practices
