• Design, develop, and maintain modern, accessible user interfaces for Varsity Spirit’s Yearbook Technology platform • Build reusable, well-tested UI components and design-system elements using modern Angular patterns, including Signals • Develop canvas-based interactive editing experiences such as drag-and-drop layout and image manipulation • Implement styling and responsive layouts using Tailwind CSS and modern CSS practices • Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate UI components with RESTful APIs and microservices • Implement client-side state management and data-flow patterns for complex interactive UIs • Build and maintain automated front-end tests covering unit, component, and end-to-end testing • Implement accessible WCAG-conformant UI patterns and partner with QA and product on accessibility validation • Optimize front-end performance for rendering-heavy, canvas-based interfaces • Participate in code reviews and mentor junior front-end engineers • Troubleshoot production UI issues and implement fixes • Continuously improve front-end development processes, tooling, and infrastructure
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) • At least 6 years professional front-end software development experience • Experience with backend or full-stack development technologies, including Java • Strong, hands-on proficiency with Angular (current versions), including Angular Signals • Strong command of TypeScript, RxJS, and modern component-based architecture • Experience with state management approaches such as NgRx, RxJS, or Signals-based state • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with backend services • Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jasmine/Karma, Jest, Cypress, or Playwright • Working knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and building accessible, ARIA-compliant UI • Experience optimizing front-end performance, including rendering-heavy or canvas-based interfaces • Familiarity with component-driven development tools such as Storybook • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies • Preferred: experience working with React • Preferred: experience with Tailwind CSS and modern component/utility-first styling approaches • Significant plus: experience with FabricJS or comparable canvas/WebGL libraries such as Konva.js • Contribution to open-source projects
