Backend Engineering at Tessian

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Gateway Integration team. The Gateway team is a small, but critical, team responsible for one of Tessian’s key customer integrations - a Mail Transfer Agent. The MTA server is highly optimised for email traffic and integrates with M365, G-Suite and Exchange Server. You will be joining the team at an exciting time, working to deliver a new multi-tenant architecture, with significant business and customer impact.


The Gateway team’s tech stack includes:

Typescript, NodeJS & Python

SMTP protocol

Docker and AWS Lambda/ECS

High volume NoSQL databases

Terraform built environments


Responsibilities:

Design and build reliable distributed systems that handle volumes of data with low latency

Maintain and support business-critical systems where scale, latency and costs are front-of-mind

Ship code to production every day using CI/CD

Tackle the challenges that come with processing highly sensitive data

Learn to build with security in mind

Make your mark on ambitious projects


Qualifications:

4+ years of Software Engineering experience

Preferable experience with AWS services (Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB etc.) or GCP/Azure equivalents.

Problem solver who takes pride in their work.

Enjoy collaboration and working with others

Values getting things done over getting things perfect

Comfortable with the unknown and loves to experiment

Construct good arguments for methodologies or practices

Worked with, or understands the principles behind working with data at scale

Passionate backend software developer, with NodeJS and Typescript experience or excited to learn Typescript
