Senior Back-End Engineer – Forward Deployed

Description

• Engage directly with customers to understand their technical requirements and business objectives

• Design and implement tailored technical solutions using Deel's and partner Accounting/HCM APIs, webhooks, and backend infrastructure

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Managers, Solutions Engineers, and Backend/Frontend Engineers to deliver customer-specific and scalable product improvements

• Contribute real-world customer use cases to product planning and roadmap

• Build and enhance product features, debug issues, and improve reliability

• Provide technical support during onboarding, implementation, and post-sale expansion

• Act as a trusted technical advisor for enterprise customers, representing Deel to clients and vice versa

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills, especially with non-technical stakeholders and external clients

• Experience delivering client-facing solutions (implementation, consulting, or embedded technical roles)

• 5+ years of experience as a backend or full-stack software engineer, ideally in SaaS or B2B platforms

• Fluency in Node.js, TypeScript/JavaScript, with deep understanding of software engineering best practices

• Strong SQL skills, particularly with PostgreSQL — including query optimization, migrations, and modeling

• Hands-on API development experience, validation, and performance tuning

• Ability to write production-ready code

• Ability to engage directly with customers to understand technical requirements

• English fluency (ability to speak, read, and write English)
