At Elder, we are reinventing what it means to age.
Are you looking to join a talented, hardworking, diverse team, focused on a life-changing mission, at one of Europe’s fastest-growing tech startups? If yes, then you are in the right place!
We have started with a care marketplace that connects older people, families, and carers to enable 1:1 personalised care at home. Our technology platform CareOS is at the core of the Elder experience allowing a personal, transparent and flexible care experience for all. Since its launch in 2016, more than 11 million hours of care have been delivered through Elder in over 500 towns and cities across the UK.
We’ve been fortunate to receive awards including the Sunday Times TechTrack fastest growing UK companies, Deloitte Fast50 and Care Company of the Year at the HealthInvestor 2022 & 2023 Awards while also covered by the BBC, Financial Times and The Guardian.
We are still in the very early stages of our mission and potential impact and looking for talented people to join us in delivering it that share our values of seeking excellence, together and for our society. What also matters to us? Well, it matters that you’re unique. It matters that you’re great at what you do, and that you put in the hard work. And, obviously, it matters that you care as much as we do.
The role of the technology team at Elder is to set Elder apart from the rest - our platform is the engine that powers the rest of the business. We build web applications that connect families and carers with each other and Elder. We use data, algorithms, and machine learning to find the right carer to look after each of our customers. In 2024, we’ll continue our journey towards becoming the UK’s leading live-in care provider and do even more to deliver a best-in-class service. We’re currently looking for a talented front-end engineer to join the team.
You’ll be a part of our larger engineering team, working with other front-end and back-end developers to develop new functionality across Elder’s web portals used by the families that we look after and carers who work with us. We use React, Next.js and Typescript across our platforms and primarily communicate with our backend systems over REST.
We encourage collaboration and our engineers are involved in the full development lifecycle, from the brainstorming of what’s possible to see how the products are being used by our end users. This is a great opportunity for a web developer who is keen to build products with modern technologies, understands the importance and impact of design on the user experience, and wants to do more than just work off fully-formed tickets.
