Full Stack Engineer

Intergalactic is looking for a full-time Full Stack Engineer with System Architecture and Deployment experience to join our growing team! As a Fullstack Engineer, you will work directly with clients, developers and project teams from concept and proposal phase through to development and delivery. As someone with experience in System Architecture and Deployments you will help lead our development teams in selecting the technologies used, structuring our solutions and setting up our system environments in AWS (and optionally GCP and Azure).

You will get to work on designing and developing exciting custom projects using leading edge technologies for our clients. You will also be responsible for environment management, deployment management and pipeline creation of DevOps. Ultimately, you will be someone who can execute and automate operational processes fast, accurately, and securely.

This is a full-time permanent role working out of our Vancouver office where we've embraced a 50% hybrid work from home and work from office model; our team flexibly work from the office 5 of 10 days (Tuesdays are our one fixed in-office day).

What you’ll do:

• Work on custom client-side web applications and interactive projects

• Investigate, architect, plan and provision cloud-based systems

• Design, develop and deploy high quality, complex, and highly scalable systems

• Deploy updates and implement integrations that meet client needs and in various environments

• Respond to operational incidents and perform root-cause analysis to resolve technical issues or production errors

• Work with the software development teams to streamline the build processes and release management via continuous integration and deployment pipelines

• Assure teams have supporting infrastructure for the entire lifecycle from design to release and liaise with development, QA and operations teams

• Work with other developers to design and document algorithms and flowcharts

• Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications

• Contribute to creating a cohesive and well organised team

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• 3 years work experience in designing, configuring and implementing systems using AWS (or similar) environment

• Proficient in scripting and automation skills

• Experience with CI/CD and gitops services

• 5 years work experience in modern JavaScript development

• 3+ years work experience using ReactJS

• 3+ years of work experience using TypeScript

• 2+ years work experience working with databases (NoSQL - MongoDB/Redis and SQL - MySQL, PostgreSQL)

• 1+ years demonstrable experience using Docker in a production environment

• Bachelors in Computer Science (or similar degree or diploma), or equivalent work experience

• Experience testing code for security and performance
