• Support the design, development, and deployment of the VA VoiceBot, a Genesys Cloud–based NLU/IVR solution
• Develop secure, scalable, and accessible software that powers self-service VoiceBot interactions and integrates with VA enterprise systems
• Develop and maintain Genesys Cloud IVR flows and supporting APIs to power VoiceBot self-service tasks (claims status, appointments, benefits inquiries)
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and event-driven services for secure data exchange between the VoiceBot, CRMs (Salesforce, Dynamics), and VA enterprise systems (MPI, Vet360, VADIR)
• Implement context passing and authentication features that ensure Veterans’ information travels seamlessly between bot and live agents
• Design and develop frontend tools (ReactJS/TypeScript) to support contact center staff with agent-assist dashboards and VoiceBot administration
• Troubleshoot and optimize Genesys IVR call flows, improving containment, routing, and escalation performance
• Collaborate with QA Engineers to validate automated testing, performance monitoring, and accessibility compliance (508/WCAG 2.0 AA)
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and contribute to the iterative delivery of two-week sprints
• Follow DevSecOps practices for CI/CD, version control, and secure infrastructure-as-code deployments
• Public Trust Clearance or higher (ability to obtain and maintain required background investigation)
• 3–5 years of full-stack software development in enterprise or contact center environments (preferred)
• 1-2 years developing within the VA environment, current VA clearance a plus (preferred)
• Hands-on experience with Genesys Cloud IVR development (call flows, routing, escalation protocols) or comparable contact center platforms
• Strong proficiency in ReactJS/TypeScript/Javascript for frontend development
• Backend development with C#/.NET, Node.js, or Python
• Knowledge of speech recognition, NLU/NLP, and conversational AI integrations
• Familiarity with federal security/compliance standards (FedRAMP, FICAM, NIST SP 800-63)
• Experience building solutions that support seamless escalation and context passing between automated IVR and human agents
• Agile/Scrum experience delivering cross-functional features in two-week sprints
