Frontend Desktop Engineer

Description

• Develop and maintain Keet Desktop, a cross-platform P2P communications application • Implement UI/UX using React and the Pear runtime • Optimize application performance, including rendering and memory management • Test and debug complex frontend applications • Build and maintain robust decentralized communication functionality • Contribute to the future of peer-to-peer and decentralized communication

Requirements

• Proven experience with React/Preact and modern JavaScript/TypeScript in production-scale applications • Strong competency in state management using Redux, Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or similar • Ability to write modular, maintainable, and well-tested code • Solid skills in testing and debugging complex frontend applications • Deep interest or experience with P2P technologies or distributed systems • Comfort working in a remote, globally distributed team • Good communication skills • Experience with desktop application development using Electron, Tauri, or similar runtimes preferred • Familiarity with video/audio APIs, including WebRTC and media streams, preferred • Demonstrated ability to optimize UI performance, including rendering and memory management, preferred • Experience building cross-platform applications for macOS, Windows, Linux, or similar platforms preferred • Contributions to open-source software projects, especially in P2P or decentralized technology, are a bonus • Excellent English communication skills
