Front-End Engineer

Role Summary

Execution Planning (EP) is responsible for delivering software and services that power Amazon's Last Mile Delivery operations across the globe. With an ever increasing portfolio of services for package delivery and pickup operations (Amazon Logistics, AMXL (heavy/bulky), Amazon Shipping (SWA), and Sub-same-day (SSD), Execution Planning sits at the heart of our last mile logistics services. Our software powers capabilities that include selecting shipments and pickups for each planning window, planning efficient sortation, optimally planning packages for dispatch and on-road delivery, assigning work to the best available driver, and many more delivery station functions. While exact numbers are confidential, our systems have enabled Amazon to deliver packages numbering in multiple billions across 500+ delivery stations and 800+ exchange points (and growing) globally.

As a Software Development Engineer on the team you will take ownership over the technical design, implementation, production delivery and support of scalable software services built natively in AWS. You will build highly available systems for supporting the scale of Amazon’s last mile delivery operations globally. A successful Software Development Engineer will have a broad array of experiences, exceptional technical design skills, an excellent ability to solve problems, good communication skills and a desire to be a key technical contributor. The software you will be responsible for directly impact Amazon’s bottom line.

Requirements

• 2+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience
• 1+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) experience
• Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as angular and react
• 1+ years of agile software development methodology experience
• Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node
