Front-End Engineer, Accessibility Specialist

Description

• As a global leader in cybersecurity, CrowdStrike protects the people, processes and technologies that drive modern organizations.

• We're looking for a front-end engineer to join our team to raise the bar for UI accessibility as we build our nextgen UI framework and design system.

• Collaborate closely with product design and UI engineering teams with a heavy focus on accessibility.

• Ensure Accessibility Compliance through UI development, testing, and code reviews to meet WCAG 2.2 guidelines.

• Conduct Regular Accessibility Audits and provide expert guidance.

• Collaborate Cross-functionally with backend engineers, product designers, and product managers.

• Triage and Prioritize accessibility issues based on severity, impact, and urgency.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation and write tests that validate accessibility functionality.

Requirements

• Expert knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 and WAI-ARIA 1.2

• Proficiency with screen readers (VoiceOver for Mac, JAWS/NVDA for Windows) and accessibility testing tools (Axe, Google Lighthouse)

• Experience building user-centric and scalable UI frameworks and design systems

• Expert knowledge of modern web standards and front-end engineering tools (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Web Components, REST API, GraphQL, TypeScript, Javascript, Node/NPM, Responsive UI)

• Understanding of cloud technologies and end-to-end delivery of data-intensive SaaS products

• Experience with localization and internationalization (i18n)

• Experience with front-end frameworks such as React/Next.js, Vue, Ember, or Lit

• Knowledge of CI/CD best practices and tools for improving and maintaining performance and code quality

• Strong communication skills in both verbal and written formats Passion for UX consistency, accessibility, and empathy for the end user
