• We're looking for a front-end engineer to join our team to raise the bar for UI accessibility as we build our next-gen UI framework and design system.
• Ensure Accessibility Compliance - Through UI development, testing, and code reviews to ensure components and systems meet WCAG 2.2 guidelines including: Semantic HTML implementation, Proper ARIA roles and attributes, Sufficient color contrast ratios, Keyboard navigation and focus state management, Descriptive and legible UI text, Accessible form development, Optimized screen reader announcements.
• Conduct Regular Accessibility Audits - Review components and systems for compliance with accessibility standards.
• Provide Expert Guidance - Respond to coworkers' accessibility inquiries and provide accurate, compliant resolutions.
• Collaborate Cross-functionally - Work with backend engineers, product designers, and product managers.
• Triage and Prioritize - Manage accessibility issues based on severity, impact, and urgency.
• Documentation and Testing - Maintain comprehensive documentation and write tests that validate accessibility functionality.
• Expert knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 and WAI-ARIA 1.2
• Proficiency with screen readers (VoiceOver for Mac, JAWS/NVDA for Windows) and accessibility testing tools (Axe, Google Lighthouse)
• Experience building user-centric and scalable UI frameworks and design systems
• Expert knowledge of modern web standards and front-end engineering tools (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Web Components, REST API, GraphQL, TypeScript, Node/NPM, Responsive UI)
• Understanding of cloud technologies and end-to-end delivery of data-intensive SaaS products
• Experience with localization and internationalization (i18n)
• Experience with front-end frameworks such as React/Next.js, Vue, Ember, or Lit
• Knowledge of CI/CD best practices and tools for improving and maintaining performance and code quality
• Strong communication skills in both verbal and written formats
