Founding Engineer

Bloom helps Americans aged 13+ learn to invest in stocks through interactive financial lessons, as well as a brokerage account designed for building long-term wealth. For teens (13-17), we offer UTMA/UGMA custodial accounts with industry-leading parental controls. Our mission is to empower the next generation of Americans with the knowledge and tools they need to achieve long-term financial success.

Since launching in April 2022, we've crossed over 500k users, and have reached $1M in annual recurring revenue.

As an early engineering hire, you'll have the opportunity to make large contributions to our core product, support key technical decisions and help us scale the next two orders of magnitude. Skills: Node, React Native, TypeScript, React, SQL, Docker, NestJS, and AWS

What would you be doing?

• Architect and build our core product: our mobile app (React Native)
• Architect and build our backend infrastructure (NodeJS) to support thousands of users
• Improve performance and reliability across our front-end apps and servers
• Help assess and recruit future engineers

What are we looking for?

• 2+ years of software engineering experience
• Advanced proficiency with Node, React Native, TypeScript, React, and SQL
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly
• Attention to detail
• Bonus: good design instincts + product sense, or, even better, having built & launched products on your own
• Bonus: experience in consumer fintech or education sectors
