• Lead a team of engineers to deliver event-driven AWS/cloud-native solutions for College Board. Foster Agile practices and mentor staff.
• Collaborate with product DevOps, Security, and Infrastructure teams to design, build and manage robust workforce solutions.
• Translate product roadmap into actionable deliverables; manage backlog; ensure visibility.
• Write code to automate infrastructure lifecycle; develop internal tools; utilize CLIs to streamline processes.
• Partner with technology leaders to align cloud product offerings with business objectives.
• Contribute to Enterprise Architecture Review; lead in infrastructure strategy and communications.
• Lead and manage a team of 7 engineers; provide coaching; drive performance.
• Lead agile ceremonies; oversee production and production-like issue resolution.
• Foster an inclusive culture; uphold College Board’s Operating Principles.
• Travel 3-5 times/year to NYC or Reston, VA (as needed).
• 7+ years of professional work experience including a minimum of 5 years working in technology
• 3+ years of recent experience working as an Engineering Manager with proven expertise in delivering product or platform-level features for event-driven cloud-based solutions
• Experience managing teams of 4 to 8 direct reports, including higher-level individual contributors.
• Experience in: Building event-driven AWS cloud-based serverless applications.
• Building APIs or other back-end services.
• Coding using Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, React.js, Node.js, or Java
• A strategic and inclusive leadership style: you set clear priorities, build effective team structures, plan for future needs, and foster a culture of belonging.
• A proven ability to drive performance and growth: you set high expectations, deliver real-time, evidence-based feedback, and coach team members to take smart risks, stretch their skills, and achieve meaningful impact.
• Strong experience working in an Agile product development environment.
• Ability to identify opportunities where AI can streamline processes, uncover insights, or improve outcomes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with an ability to present ideas in user-friendly and engineering language.
• Experience leading engineering and architecture discussions that foster open and respectful dialogue , bringing stakeholders to agreement
• Exceptional planning, prioritization, and execution skills, delivering results on time and on budget in fast-paced environments.
• A bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science preferred.
• Able to travel 3-5 times a year to our NYC or Reston, VA office
• Additional nice-to-haves: Professional training and/or certifications using Amazon Web Services, Linux, Java, etc.
• Experience or knowledge of workforce technology tools such as Atlassian Suite, Slack, Zoom, G-Suite, o365, Github , etc.
