Description

• JupiterOne is a cyber asset attack surface management (CAASM) platform providing visibility and security across cyber asset inventories.

• Lead one of our core engineering groups (10-15 engineers), including employees and contractors, with responsibility for people management and technical leadership.

• Responsible for process optimization, architecture direction, and ensuring teams deliver priorities that drive business outcomes.

• Tech stack includes Node.js and TypeScript backend, AWS Lambda, ECS, EKS, and React/TypeScript frontend; migrating more workloads to Kubernetes (EKS).

• Role blends strategic leadership and hands-on technical work: mentor senior engineers, influence technical direction, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Requirements

• Experienced Engineering Leader: 3+ years in an engineering management or director role, managing teams of 5 or more engineers.

• Technically Current: You’ve written and shipped production code in Node.js, Javascript, and TypeScript in the last few years.

• Frontend-Savvy: Familiarity with React and TypeScript—enough to support and evaluate frontend work from your team and vendors.

• Cloud-Native Mindset: Comfortable designing, operating, and evolving services in AWS, with a strong understanding of Lambda, ECS, and EKS.

• Kubernetes Knowledge: Practical experience running workloads on Kubernetes (EKS) and a vision for what good infrastructure and DevOps look like at scale.

• Refactoring Veteran: You’ve led or contributed to large-scale refactoring efforts and know how to strike the balance between improvement and velocity.

• Strong Communicator: You are able to translate technical vision into actionable work and keep both engineers and stakeholders aligned.

• Execution-Focused: You understand how to balance long-term technical investments with the need to ship incrementally and deliver value.

• Nice to Have: Experience managing distributed or outsourced teams; Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and observability best practices; Background in service-oriented or micro-services architecture; Contributions to open-source projects or technical writing.
